| - Last night my wife said, "Our Groupon is going to expire soon. We gotta go." I'd never heard of the place. Went to Yelp to read the reviews. They were mostly not flattering....many were terrible. I knew I was going to hate the place. In fact, I already hated it. We arrived at 6pm and found tons of parking. We were greeted by two hostesses who took us to a dining room booth that could easily hold 6-8 people. Nice...lots of room. Looked around..the place is huge...but very clean, nicely lit, and well kept. Moments later, Kayla came by and took our drink orders. Was prepared for crummy drinks because the reviews were quite negative about the bar. Amazing...they were delicious and huge and cost 2 bucks. Kayla explained the logic/purpose of the horizontal lines that circle the Red Solo Cups. So far...really good. Ordered steaks, baked potatoes, beans, and broccoli. One medium rare, one medium. To our amazement, that's just what we got. Great steaks, loaded potatoes with very tasty almond butter, delicious beans with pulled pork, and not overcooked broccoli. Is this really the place where all those nasty reviews live? Couldn't be. Kayla dropped by a couple of times to see how we were doing. When asked if Miranda and Blake were done, she was confident they would make it. Kayla was attentive without being obtrusive, and got everything right. As we got up to leave, we agreed that "TK's" was much much better than expected and that we would certainly return. We suspect the place is different on Saturday night vs. Wednesday evening...but if you are looking for a good meal during the week, Toby's is certainly worth considering. Oh yeah... had to apologize to my wife for my rant all the way over to the restaurant about how she's got to read the reviews before she buys Groupons......Given our great experience, it's hard to know what happened to all those folks who were so disappointed. Not us.
