| - Every time that I was in the NoDa neighborhood, I'd see Noda Nail Salon and think about checking it out. Recently they had a Groupon offer, so I jumped at it. The evening of my appointment I was excited because when I think "manicure", I think - 30 minutes of relaxation time, a glass of wine, a 5-10 minute long much needed hand massage, and finally clean & pretty nails... happiness! My experience was totally the opposite. I was bored and disappointed - by the ambiance, service & manicure itself. There was no massage, no proper nail cleaning - just filing, and polish. I politely asked my manicurist whether all manicures at this salon were like this (I was genuinely curious). I think it was at that point that she realized this wasn't my first ever manicure, and after painting my nails and drying them out, she did throw some sugar scrub on my hands, asked me to scrub and wash myself, and then I was treated to a 7.5 second hand massage... on each hand! :) safe to say.. I'm not going back.
