| - I am giving Best Mattress a one star review because of their abhorrent sales tactics that seems to be the norm when it comes to modern day corporate behavior. I told John the salesman at their N. Rainbow store that I need a full size bed. At first he misunderstood and thought all I needed was a mattress, but I needed a complete bed. That's exactly what I told him, a COMPLETE BED. He quoted me a price that I agreed to, but when we sat down to complete the order he said "Oh, you also need a frame? That will cost another $90.00." Then he broke the price down, piece by piece. The mattress will cost THIS, the box spring will cost THAT, and the frame will be THIS much, and it all added up to more than his original quote for a COMPLETE BED. I am very loyal to people and companies when they don't try to screw me and all I ask in return is an honest transaction, but Best Mattress just lost what would've been a repeat customer. I can only relate this to if I had been buying a car and the salesman saying "Oh, you also need an engine and wheels to go with that, it'll cost you another ten grand."
Does this company think that people are going to just set the box spring and mattress on the floor without a frame? I bought the bed regardless because I needed it and I have better things to do than to drive around town to save twenty bucks, and the final price was still comparable to anyone else, but why do these companies have to use underhanded sales tactics when they could just be up-front from the start? If you shop here, make sure before you finalize the order that the price is what you think it will be.
