When comparing this place to an LVAC or 24 Hour, Planet Fitness is definitely less "hardcore." They preach healthy lifestyles while emphasizing they aren't your typical gym. It honestly gets a little annoying but they've certainly got their message out. At 10 or 20 dollars a month with an annual fee in February as well as a sign up fee for the 10 dollar option, PF is extremely affordable, especially when you consider that the 20 dollar option allows you to bring a guest no matter what.
The facility is clean and new and of moderate size. The air feels very clean in here (an issue in the 24 on trop). My biggest complaint would that they don't have a true bench press or squat rack, only the smith machine types. Otherwise, they have tons of cardio, dumbbells and barbells, as well as machine weights. It's relatively no frills here -no pool or saunas or anything like that, but they do have a massage, tanning, and dry heat rooms for those with the 20 dollars a month membership. If they simple had a few more free weight setups it would have been 5 stars for me.
