  • I really wanted to check this Red Rock Canyon out as we had the opportunity late afternoon. The next day we already had a full day with confirmed plans. Luckily we had our national lifetime park pass so we didn't have to pay to get in. That was a pleasant surprise. We had made a pitstop to take a pic of the Red Rock Canyon Rock beforehand where there was a couple debating to go in. We made a stop at the Visitor's Center first. They had a lovely gift shop & displays indoors as well as outdoors plus that much needed washroom! Stop here if you need to go! Much preferred! There was a spot to take a cool scenic pic like many other visitors had in mind. This area got crowded after awhile as was the parking lot too. That Red Rock Canyon formation was certainly very awesome. One must stop to appreciate, treasure what nature has for us & love the many blessings. At one of our beginning stops people were hiking on the trails. We also observed a guy climbing the side of the mountain. That looked ominously dangerous! Because there are hiking trails I think it's better to come earlier in the day. I'm glad we managed to squeeze this outing in nonetheless. The lighting in the morning is probably better for pictures as well. Most of my pictures were too dark due to the sun setting in the west toward the latter part of the thirteen miles. Even at the very last stop we made they had the messy vault toilet. Hubby noticed a wedding couple getting their photographs taken at this stop. Come & enjoy this thirteen mile one way scenic drive as my pictures do it no justice! Isn't that always the case? Absolutely a must see in person!
