  • my cousins tell me that The Flats used to be a dreary industrial wasteland back in the day, but the march of gentrification is changing that. this area kind of reminded me of Greenpoint or Williamsburg nowadays, where hipsters have been slowly supplanted by people with real jobs. I enjoy live music and alcohol, so it's definitely relevant to my interests. the musicians were actually quite talented, playing anything and everything from Billy Joel to Cindy Lauper to Salt-N-Pepa to Guns n Roses. waitresses dancing on the bar and singing too. fairly large space inside and a great outdoor section too where you can hear the music just fine. it was a bit too packed inside to get to where you can request songs, but you can request songs - and if you throw in a little cash with your request, it can get bumped up in the queue. that's the free market in action, kids, and you better love it. $6 cover on Saturday night, which is fine. great selection of drinks and beers, for any and all tastes.
