| - This is a really high-end steakhouse, that serves really high-end steaks. So if you go here, expecting what they advertise, you won't be disappointed.
What might be an unexpected surprise, though, is the Prix Fixe menu that delivers some of the most popular dishes (in my case, 8 oz filet, crab cake, wedge salad, and smashed potatoes) for about half the price of the regular menu. That makes it a deal. Also a pleasant surprise was the wait staff, which was not only helpful, but also anxious to swap life stories and chat about any topic. Given the lengthy conversation, the quick service can only be explained by the fact that we had three waiters and a manager hovering around us during the course of the dinner.
Having just overpaid for wet ice cubes at a strip nightclub, I was also very pleased that the drinks were a fair pour and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was what I think of as "old Vegas" (even though this is a Dallas-based chain). Dark wood, lighting and noise levels appropriate for romantic conversation, and generous spacing between tables.
Easy to reach on the Paradise Rd. version of restaurant row, I would recommend this place over many of the pricey steakhouses at the Strip hotels.
