| - Maybe it was the night and the setting and our chaotic week, but my friend and I needed to wind down, and Postino's wasn't the place to do that. I'm giving the place four stars based on food, but definitely not setting.
Like all the other restaurants in this area, it was busy. There was a 45 minute wait (but several empty tables inside). We opted to sit at the bar. However, before we even ordered drinks we knew we couldn't take the pounding music. The bartender suggested we try "the grassy area out back". This consisted of a curved, winding concrete seating strip with low tables. The other choice was a tall table that you stood at. Neither was comfortable.
I was super hungry and ready for a hefty meal, but Postino's menu only consisted of interesting appetizers, artisan bruschetta, soups/salads, and paninis. My friend ordered a few different types of bruschetta, which turned out to be a medium sized meal. I had a very delicious half and half: Brussels sprouts salad with bacon and dried cherries, and a prosciutto and brie panini. I spread the generous-sized cloth napkin over my lap and then either held the salad bowl with one hand and ate with the other. Switching off between the two, I balanced the sandwich plate on my knees.
I will go back to try more of the menu, but at lunchtime. Not enough on the menu to make me consider it for dinner.
