Stopped into Mercatto after a recommendation from a client in Toronto. Fantastic Italian food. Although not the cheapest lunch in the city, they use incredibly fresh ingredients that make a huge difference in italian food (fresh vegetables, meat, and pasta). I had a ricotta-stuffed gnocci dish which was great. One of the better italian dishes I've had in a long time.
The bustling restaurant is packed at around 12 during the work week, but for good reason. If you're going by yourself or with 1 other person ask to sit at the bar, because you don't have to wait on line and you are served quickly.
