  • My wife, son, and I ate at Destihl a few days ago and had a fantastic experience there! This is a fairly new restaurant in downtown Champaign, and it's a place not to miss. Their menu is innovative, wide-ranging, and worthy of repeated visits. Dana, our server, was just superb! She responded to all our questions with a special attentiveness, and offered great advice on unusual food choices and palate-pleasing brews. She followed up often to make sure everything was just right throughout the meal. They should clone her! My wife had their charred broccolini and feta salad with other fantastic ingredients that she loved. My son had the havarti and hickory-smoked turkey sandwich on ciabatta that made him moan with delight. Having messed up my appetite earlier in the day on snacks, I ordered the corn and chicken chowder that turned out to be one of the best soups in recent memory, and a perfect choice for a light meal. Destihl Restaurant & Brew Works is a gem in the Champaign-Urbana area. Go try it out and you'll see what I mean!
