  • We recently went to Las Vegas for a 6 day vacation and did a lot of different things in those 6 days but the High Roller was by far one of the best things we did while in Vegas. First of all, it's unlike anything you've ever done before, and yes that includes those restaurants that you eat at while way up in the air. Secondly, it's a hell of a lot of fun. And third, if you can hold your liquor then it's one of the best values in all of Vegas! That's right, get the drinking package and get ready to drink. My wife and I got tickets through Groupon for a discounted rate and we chose to go with the dusk/drinking package. That is of course the most expensive combination but after our discount it put it solidly in the value zone considering what we got out of the experience. Let me start by saying what High Roller and others will say if you're worried about heights and/or getting sick from the ride. This thing moves so slow you really won't be able to tell it's moving just by feeling the movement of it. You really cannot even tell that it's moving at all unless you focus on a pole or an item near to it that you can see what you are relative to and then you can see while it's moving it's moving so slow you can barely see much movement. So there is no need to worry about getting motion sickness at all because this isn't a ferris wheel, even if it looks like one. Secondly I know some folks, including myself, worried a bit about being too crowded into the pod and maybe getting a bit of claustrophobia. Well no worries because they use their judgement as to the amount of people and they won't pack you in like sardines. As for the amount of alcohol you can/will get in a 30 minute ride. Well how fast can you drink? The bartender, of which there is only one, moves lightning fast and doles out the drinks. I was unable to ever once think I was hurting for a drink and I drank 8 double shots. That's right I got doubles and that was not a problem. Now I did tip the bartender $1-$2 each time we got a drink, so as to keep him nice and happy, as did most folks. Speaking of the bartender, he was a heck of a lot of fun. Not only was he lightning fast but he told some stories, cracked jokes and was just really a lot of fun. Now the view is amazing at night. Simply amazing. You can see for miles and it's really incredible. I know not everyone is like me and is all about the drink so I felt I definitely should mention the view, heh. My wife really loved it too, and yes she has some fear of heights but she said she was quite comfortable throughout our ride and she would do it again. By the time our ride was over it I had definitely had my fill of alcohol for the night and was really good and buzzed (ok I won't lie, I was pretty drunk actually) and then it was our time to hit up Vegas and just have some fun. This was not only just a fun time but it was such a unique experience as well. We do plan to come back to Vegas and I know the wife and I plan to once again look up the High Roller and enjoy a wild 30 minute trip into the Vegas skies and so should you if you're in Vegas! Highly recommended! Get your drink on!
