I wish I had read the rest of the reviews before coming here.
We walked in and we're the only people there. Despite this fact, our food took close to 40 minutes to get after ordering. The excuse we were given was that there was only one cook due to food vendors being out on the square. I am not sure why the management would not increase the staff at the actual restaurant to accommodate this. Despite the fact that there may or may not have been only a single cook, it is a barbecue restaurant. Most of this meat has already been slow cooking for hours. There shouldn't have been much to prepare, and we were the only people in the restaurant.
Moving on to the food, the brisket was good but the ribs were not. They were over seasoned and over cooked. Additionally, when I pay $16 for a BBQ platter I expect to see a plethora of meat. This was not the case. Lastly, the sauces they give are below average. There's only 3 options and none of them are standout.
Overall, I would not recommend going here. There's about a hundred other restaurants on State Street that I'm sure beat this place out.
