  • Nestled inside an old folks' condominium building right at Summerhill Station is this little gem, Mani Pedi Spa. In case, from the clandestine name, you can't figure out what they do, they do manis and they do pedis. And they do waxing and facials and a bunch of other esthetic services. I've been a steady attendant here for the past 4 years. It started when I worked at Yonge & St. Clair, but now I work downtown and I live on the Danforth and I still go here, because it's amazing. The steady flow of customers alludes you to the fact that they do well most of the year. The even steadier flow of repeat customers, who all of the estheticians know by name, is even better. If you plan to attend more than once, they provide you with your own box with a nail file, buffer, etc. in it with your name on it and they keep it stored until your next visit so there isn't so much waste. They have TV's, a terrible, perpetually playing CD of piano cover versions of songs from West Side Story and St. Elmo's Fire and comfy, massaging chairs. They have a great selection of O.P.I. polishes (for sale too) and a manicure/pedicure will run you exactly $35 if you pay cash (yes, they do that here, which is amazing. Damn the man) but they accept credit cards, debit and sell gift certificates. There is a competitor nail shop across the street which I have never been to and which I never plan to go to, because this place is so good. I've taken friends and family here, I had my nails done here for my wedding, yeah, it's that good. I highly, highly recommend it. You may want to bring some headphones with you so you don't have to listen to their shitty CD, or so you don't have to overhear the annoying conversations of some of the "entitled" Rosehill/Summerhil older females who assume every esthetician is from China and asks them things like "how often you do go home? I've been to China once, they have beautiful silks there....." Oh...ma....ga.....that's the only annoying part. But they perform a meticulous service every time. They will redo a nail if they feel it's not good enough (even if you have no complaint and can't tell at all) and they are always warm and welcoming. Love it.
