| - I bought a new house. I specified a liftmaster 8500. They installed the ceiling mounted unit (could be the builder Cachet homes as well). That was corrected, but I love the amount of holes in the ceiling that were patched and cracked after the fact and I had to fix again.
Then I paid them to install garage floor epoxy(this was done with the builder who used them). I was NOT told that getting the color without flakes it would not be able to be touched up. I would have paid the difference for the flakes to be able to touch it up. Yes I went through Cachet homes, but either way I was not told about that. So I would blame both, but ultimately Lodi for not letting me know. Now I am stuck with a floor that I did scratch because it appears to be a thin coating. I can't get it touched up which I would pay for because I did scratch it with a floor jack with plastic wheels.
Also when I asked them about adding struts on the door they were very expensive. I spent a lot of money and double what I should have on the floor for nothing (plus the expensive upgrade on the opener and insulation for the door). I will not recommend them unless you want a bad floor job(seems really thin and not all that smooth in places) without being informed about it not being able to be touched up if you get the solid color. Also the top doesn't appear to have a nice clear coat like the paint chip version. This is like a paint on coating or at least that is what it looks like to me. Note the warranty on the garage floor pretty much says any damaged caused by anything other then peeling you are responsible for. Last but not least it was installed 2-3 days before move in. Why did I pay double to have it done within 2-3 days, this could be cachet's homes fault, but as the owner I am not happy. I was hoping it was have a minimum of a week or 2 to be fully cured not 2-3 days. I was told not to drive on it yet by cachet, how was I supposed to move in? Hell I could have waiting and had it done better and for less after the fact, but wanted it ready to go on move in. Here is a copy of the warranty. I was given that as well, but I should have read it more closely. I assume most of them are the same, but they could at least work with me to get the floor redone at a reduced rate because I was not informed about the touchup and what I think is a thin coating.
In the end use someone who only does floor coatings for that and find someone who is cheaper and offers a better warranty on the work. Again I am mad at the cost what appears to be not the best job and paying twice as much as I could have gotten it after the fact with the paint chips. I think the short cure time and thinness has causing some of the scratches on it and scrapes. I am not blaming them for the damage as I causing most of it, but it seems that a better job would have held up better and a longer cure time would have helped. Also the builder asked them to call me to explain the floor color and why it can't be touched up. They never called me back and the builder told them multiple times, this just proves that the customer service is lacking. Note any car leaks would I assume are harsh chemicals as listed below and would not be covered. Don't drop a wrench or screwdriver as it also chips very easily.
5 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Lodi Garage Doors and More guarantee's the ORIGINAL PURCHASER against defects on
workmanship or material. Your floor carries a limited 5 Year warranty against peeling and
delaminating caused by any defect in the coating product or its application. Any part of this
determined defective shall be repaired. Lodi Garage Doors and More shall make a good faith
effort for prompt repair of the defect.
Conditions
Lodi Garage Doors and More make no other express warranties and limits any implied
warranties available to the customer.
Warranty Exclusions
1. Warranty does not apply to any defect caused by alterations or modifications of any kind.
2. Warranty excludes abuse, misuse, neglect, or accidents.
3. Warranty excludes cracking in the underlying concrete.
4. Warranty excludes harsh chemicals such as, battery acid, brake fluid, paint thinner, paint, etc.
