Beware: In 2014 my wife and I bought a Fiat 500L. As much as I was against buying a "fiat", my wife said it was a "cute" car and wanted it. We bought the car and I must admit I love the car! Here's where the BEWARE begins- most places are reluctant or flat out refuse to work on Fiats and this includes something as simple as an oil change. Fiat 500L hasn't been around long so there isn't much "history" with the car for mechanics to refer to...... fast forward-no big deal I'll just take it to the Dealership! That's all fine and dandy bcuz with a new car there's a lot of recalls, etc. I personally don't think I should have to pay for a "sensor" that Fiat couldn't figure out how to calibrate the right way..... So fast forward some more and now my car is over 50,000 miles and I get nothing but cold shoulders at the service department bcuz I'm out of warranty.... I was even quoted $250 for a floor mat (lol)..... So engine light comes on and "another sensor" needs adjusting. As a rule of thumb I go to autozone and get it diagnosed for free. I go to fiat and it's $165 to diagnose what auto zone did for free(lol). He told me "oh, you can keep that paper, it could be 300 different things."
I love my Fiat but beware when service is needed. My sensor is a $35 part and 3min repair (according to YouTube).
