Where is the half star option so that I can give this the Goldilocks rating of 3.5? I rolled into Delux with high expectations on a Wednesday night with the city in a full-blown table drought (Delux was not our first stop in attempting to secure a table that evening). What recession, eh? Oh yeah, the food... How was it? Not bad. Not great. Just plain good. I had the chicken and my buddy had the steak. The preparations were solid and the presentation was what you'd expect . With a glass of Chilean Cab each we were out the door around the $80 mark (before tip). And therein lies the problem with this joint. The food is good. The room is nice. The service is more than acceptable. However, I think it's simply a bit too pricey for what you get. If I were to try and quantify just how overpriced I think the place is I would say "10%" My rationale here is that I fee like I would have been smiling at a low $70 check versus the low $80 we had to deal with. In simplest terms, I would say you get more mileage for your money elsewhere. I would think twice before going back to Delux given the myriad of options in this stratum of restaurants. Ossington, Ossington, Ossington...
