  • One star only because negative ones aren't possible. Ride Now on Rancho should change their name to Ride only before 4PM on Rancho. I stopped in this afternoon at about 350PM to test drive and buy a Polaris Slingshot. I've been thinking about one for a while then Polaris came out with a 0% financing deal. I checked with my insurance agent and had a check ready for the down payment. Just wanted a test drive to confirm my decision. Returned home with the check and no Slingshot not even a test drive plus a huge dislike of these gomers. These customer service failures had a Slingshot and a few other bikes at the Barrett Jackson auction that I went to a few weeks ago. The sales person there seemed knowledgeable about the Slingshot and she told me sure stop in any afternoon Tuesday through Saturday and we'll get you a test ride. I had told her about another negative experience with this same dealer when I first tried to test drive one. They were advertising test drives with a web appointment. Made the appointment & showed up a few minute early on the scheduled day & time. Oh gee the guys who do the test rides aren't here today. Sorry about that. Huh? Test rides? Oh you only get to ride as a passenger not drive. That wasn't what they were advertising plus they didn't seem too put out that they weren't able to keep the appointment. I shared my miserable experience with the Ride Now rep at Barrett-Jackson and she said oh no those people are gone. We would never do that. So this time I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited for her to finish her conversation. She was talking to another customer so I waited until after she was done which was about 405PM. I reminded her about meeting at Barrett Jackson and I was interested in test driving a Slingshot. She asked if I had an appointment. Nope you didn't mention the need for one when I talked to you. Plus we were standing next to a rather prominent sign saying basically take your Slingshot test drive now. Hmm, no mention of an appointment. She said she would have to check with her manager. She came back after a few minutes and said that her manger said no test drives after 4PM. What? I was there before 4PM and gee it was all of 410PM now. I've heard a lot of horrible things about this dealer but decided to make my own judgement. Major mistake. I should have l learned from their bad experiences. Now mind you they have six or seven Slingshots in stock but they sure didn't seem like they wanted to sell any. After the way I was treated by this pack of incompetents I'm pretty much done with the idea of buying a Slingshot from them and based on this latest recall maybe done with a Slingshot. Find another dealer. There are a few great ones in Phoenix and Cali that will deal with you. Cheap flight and a nice drive home.
