  • Booked 4 hours of cleaning. Our home was last cleaned about a month ago. The cleaner complained that our home was 'unmaintained' and that she might need extra time. I thought that was odd, but didn't quibble - mostly what the house needs is a good vacuuming and some light cleaning. 2 hours later, and all that was accomplished was a bit of light dusting (not even enough to use up 1 swiffer duster) and she cleaned the outside of the stove (and requested help to do so, which I supplied). When I asked her to focus on other things because we only had 2 hours left, she grew visibly enraged and asked if I wanted her to leave. When I restated that I simply wanted her to focus on the floors in the time she had left, she got even angrier, called her boss, and then left in a huff. 2 hours of work at $25 dollars an hour and all that was accomplished was a poorly cleaned stove and a modicum of dusting with large areas skipped. I would avoid this service at all costs. Poor work, poor management, poor customer service. Also, since they charge you ahead of time for 4 hours, you end up getting doubly screwed, since you end up paying not only for the non-work they do while in your apartment, but also for time they didn't even work at all. I attempted to inform the owner of the problem on the phone, but was unable to since she refused to stop screaming at me long enough for me to finish a sentence. Unfortunately, Maid Here feels it necessary to resort to dishonesty in their response to this review. Although the owner claims she called me, made an assessment of my state of mind, and then asked the cleaner to leave. I called her. About 15 minutes after the cleaner had already left. And contrary to their protestations, it seems like my experience is actually quite common for their customers (you know, their actual customers vs the fake glowing reviews that Maid Here leaves for themselves). Perhaps if the facts were more in their favor they wouldn't have to alter them in order to smear their unhappy customers. So, to re-iterate: do not use this cleaning service unless you want poor cleaning done at a glacially slow pace, attitude, and ridiculous smears when you complain. But hey, at least if you are lucky, they might refund the money they charge you up front!
