Born and raised in southern California (USA), I had never wandered too far away from home. The dreamy princess in me had always wanted to explore but a part of me was waiting to fall in love and travel the world with my boo... but I think I have given up on that dream. Toronto, Ontario, Canada was the perfect destination for me since (1) I spoke the language: English and a bit of French, (2) Canada is the only country I can travel to where my blood bank won't defer my donations for a year and most importantly (3) multiple tempting landmarks that I was interested in.
I was far far away from home and all alone... I experienced my first layover in Newerk Liberty International Airport in New Jersey before I reached my final destination at the Toronto Pearson International Airport in Ontario. It was my first time going through Customs and I anxiously waited at baggage claim before getting picked up in the loading area.
While in Toronto my first and favorite destination is the Hockey Hall of Fame. Where I come from Hockey fans are pretty rare but the intensity that Canada has for hockey is AMAZINGGGGG!! Half of the people walking around downtown were wearing Toronto Maple Leaf Jerseys. In brief, the Hockey Hall of Fame features all that you want to know about hockey... Hockey from national teams, NHL teams and of course the individual players that have stood out throughout the years. The ultimate highly for me here was TAKING A PICTURE WITH THE STANLEY CUP!! *faint*
Right outside of the Hockey Hall of Fame is a TIM HORTONS!! You MUST eat their donuts and drink their mesmerizing coffee... I am back in the states now and I have the urge to special order myself some Tim Hortons coffee.
Also in the downtown area was the CN Tower. At some point in time the CN Tower was the tallest building in all of Canada. From on top of the CN Tower you can experience the most magnificent view of the city. The speedy elevator propels you to the top et voila!! C'est magnifique ;)
I also passed by the Rogers Centre which is home to the MLB Toronto Blue Jays and Air Canada Centre which is home to the NHL Toronto Maple Leafs. This downtown area is the place to be!!
If you find yourself visiting Toronto, Niagara Falls is only 90min to 2 hours away. It is one of the wonders of this world and a definitely MUST SEE if you find yourself in the area... The waterfalls were so stunning and majestic... Swoon!!!!!
TORONTO -- Je t'aimerai toujours!! I will always love you!!
When it was time to return home, I was not ready to say goodbye. There is so much more of the city I wish to explore... If the opportunity presents itself again, it would be my pleasure to return for some more happy friendly sweet polite Canadian TLC :)
**Detailed reviews of each spot I mentioned will be posted and put onto a Toronto list shortly**
