What is it about Japanese style that makes you want more? I'll tell you what it is, it's the minimalism.
Everyday I would see this store on my way to work and I always wanted to go in but it was always so busy! I finally dared to go in one late evening, luckily for me it was so crowded. Boo-Yah! I was initially taken aback by the variety of things the sold, see I hadn't read up about this place before coming so I just assumed it was a clothing store. But noooo.... They sell clothes, stationary, furniture, cutlery, suitcases and even a toilet bowl brush!! Whaaaaat?
Now everything here is of a similar palette of colour, nothing to bright or bold. Its stuff you can place anywhere without it ruining your existing interior/style. I went a second time and knew that I have to buy the pens here (everybody comments about it!) and I did and they were good! I even bought a notebook and went crazy at the stamping station... boy they need to lock that stuff up! They even host events and one of them was the easter bag painting event. It was free, you got a Muji bag and there was paint and you just go crazy! They had called a Japanese Illustrator (toronto based) to provide us with some tips and tricks on how to paint on fabric.
They stuff here is not cheap but it looks durable, I love the minimalistic look so I'll definitely keep coming back :)
