  • Again, not sure how anyone can really rate a museum, but here is a quick summary of my thoughts of the Carnegie Science Center. I love it. Plain and simple it's one of my favorite places in the Burgh. It's a must see for out of towners or residents alike. The exhibits are fascinating, from the robots to the small trains to the cooking shows and the water tables. It's always entertaining, for adults and children. It can get crazy in here with kids, so be cautious if coming on a weekend. Parking is a breeze- there's plenty in the lots near the center. Their cafe has plenty of food options, with outdoor and indoor seating and the submarine outside is always fun to experience. Sports Works, next door, is also an awesome time and I highly recommend checking it out. My favorite part of the Science Center? The Omnimax theater. It's HUGE. There are always shows playing- they are educational and run for about 45 minutes. I highly recommend ANY of them, but if they have a space one or an underwater movie- buy your tickets now. The light shows at the Science Center are awesome too- we went to a Lady Gaga one a few years back and had a great time. The Carnegie Science Center is a Pittsburgh favorite and will always be.
