  • It is true these guys will tell you only what definitely needs to be fixed and get your car back up and running at a relatively low price, but I do not trust the integrity of their work. About 6 months ago, I had a timing belt changed by them. The morning after, my car was acting funny--I made it halfway to work before it died of a dead battery. I had to tow it back to them and arrange for a ride to/from work. I ended up arriving 2.5 hours late to work that day missing an important meeting. I also had to leave work earlier than usual in order to make it back in time before they closed at 5:30 PM. Upon returning at the end of the day, my car seemed to be up and running just fine. The strange thing, at least to me, is that there was no mention of what went wrong, no apologies, no offers to cover the cost of towing or a rental car. Thankfully they didn't charge me any more, but it makes me wonder, if they wouldn't own up to this small mistake, and at least apologize for the inconvenience their negligence caused, then what else are they not owning up to? A similar story on business ethics: A friend of mine called C&T to replace a tire and while loading his car onto the tow truck, the guy broke off his exhaust pipe. His excuse was "it was going to break anyway" and my friend was charged the full price for a new one. I'm not saying that C&T can't do the work, but don't expect them to own up to their mistakes.
