So disappointed in the newly renovated Park MGM. I loved staying at Monte Carlo the last time we were here. Upon arrival we were disappointed to find that there was no mini fridge or coffee maker in our room. We thought the earplugs in the room were a joke, but the next morning we realized they weren't. However, we weren't sure if they were for the construction that started early in the morning and the paper thin walls. We literally could hear the room next door open their curtains.
The air conditioning in our room, although set to 60 degrees, was very humid and not cool at all. When we called the front desk they went a gentlemen up to fix it and he did, but it only lasted about a day before it was no longer working again.
All week long we were having issues with our bathroom sink not wanting to shut off even when the handle was off. One morning we finally got it off then it wouldn't come back on. When we called the front desk they informed us that floors 11-32 wouldn't have water again until 7 pm due to construction. We had no warning of this shut off! So now we were left with no shower, toilet, or sink for the entire day.
When we went to the pool we were upset to find that they had gotten rid of the lazy river. Don't expect to order any drinks or food from your seat by the pool. There was a major lack of servers and service. When a waitress finally came over to ask if we needed anything we asked for water. When she brought back the water a while later we asked for a drink menu because we were fully prepared to order alcoholic drinks. She never came back to ask if we would like to order.
On a different day at the pool we stopped a waitress to ask for lemon water and she said she would bring us lemons, but to use a water spout nearby. The water from the spout was warm and she never returned with the lemons. Oh and they did away with the dj at the pool.
We were also disappointed to discover that they got rid of the food court and instead replaced it with pricey restaurants. Double barrel is one of the restaurants and they have minimum hours.
Not to mention the lack of lighting in the hallways and rooms.
Even though there are specific instructions to hang your towels if you wish to reuse them to shower, the housekeeping still takes the towels and doesn't replace them with the correct number. They took five hanging towels and replaced them with three.
