  • Carniceria La Bonita!! (Sing it in their jingle) quite catchy, haha. I think this is the closest Latino market I have in the Southwest. It's a 15 minute drive from my home so I normally take a long detour here when I'm driving home from work. Two great things about La Bonita, cheap produce and meat! I'm always able to score 3lbs of conventional bananas for $1, 2lbs of conventional apples for $1, etc. Two weeks ago I was able to get chicken drumsticks for $0.79 a pound, can't beat that, they have everything, from pork, chicken, beef, some marinated already. You can also find weird meat here such as cow tongue and chicken feet, yuck! The downside, you have to consume your produce fast. Quality is not as great as Von's which is my go to grocery store. My boys devour everything within a day or two so that's not a problem for us. They have a panaderia that makes tortillas there at the store, $1.99 for a big packet which is not bad, so I always pick up the tortillas here. The bolillo is cheap as well, normally 3 pieces for $1. The price of the sweet bread has gone up over the years, now you only get 2 pieces for $1. They have a small deli counter where you could pick up cheese, sour cream, and sandwich meats for a really decent price. Why buy the tub of Knudson sour cream when you can buy the tub that La Bonita just packaged for $1 less? They also have a dessert counter? Well, I'll call it that since you can buy flans, yogurt, and other goodies for your sweet tooth there. They have an eatery within the store but I've never eaten there, it doesn't really appeal to me. If you'd like anything else here such as household items like detergent, or food items like pasta, I wouldn't buy it here. Too overpriced. The only pasta that is cheap is the fideo which is normally 4 packets for $1. The cashiers are a little bit on the slow side but always very friendly, their customers, not so much. I always get the stinky eye when I'm here. Parking can be a bit of a hassle sometimes and the store seems more packed on weekends than late nights. Other than that, this store is A-Okay for me.
