I can't believe I have a customer service that I had today. I have been to the REI in Tempe and I miss it so much. I was looking for shoes to buy for my father who lives in Chicago. I asked the girl if all the shoes that they had available were out she replied yes. She was very unhelpful didn't really make eye contact and kind of acted like I was bothering her. She was carrying an empty for that box in her hand but I didn't really think that I deserve to be treated like I was a nuisance. I then went and waited in line for over 20 minutes because they only had two Registers open. When I politely asked if we could open a new register I was ignored. A manager came by to help and associate with the return, there's no way he didn't notice how long the line was and didn't bother to call for back up. By the time I went up to the register everyone had been waiting almost 15-20 mins. I then approached the first register that opened and told them about how they didn't have the shoe in stock, described the show (there was only one pair of water shoe in store that was below the ankle) and If I could order it. He then proceeded to tell me that I needed to leave the line and go back and grab a box of the shoes that I was talking about. Keep in mind, there were only four different types of pairs of shoes and that I had already waited 20 minutes In line. So I had to leave the line and go grab the box and get back in line and wait AGAIN. Approached a new register with said box and asked if I could order the pair shoes. he said he would double check for me to make sure that there weren't any in stock. I was told that there wasn't any in store but that there are 20 online. I said great I'll order them. He then hesitated, and looked at me as if he didn't want to do it. And I said is that a problem? and he said oh no if you want ME to be a part of that process than that's fine. Which I thought was a weird way to talk to someone, I just don't think he wanted to go through the trouble of doing my order. He told me I was acting jumpy...I told him that I was not jumpy I was annoyed because I had some of the worst customer service so far. He told me he was sorry I was having a bad day. I didn't bother to correct him, I wasn't having a bad day I was just getting bad customer service and it was obvious that everyone there was acting like all of us in line were just bothering them. When he put in my order he double checked the address with me, and then told me I would be receiving an email. I asked for a printed receipt and all he told me was no you should be getting an email. He also never bothered to tell me my total. He asked if I had an account and I gave my my boyfriends account number, which I have done with no problem or with attitude before. He basically refused to print me a receipt, which I would have liked to have for a hard copy. I'm just annoyed over the whole experience and quite frankly I'm probably not going to ever spend my money there again.
