| - I had a very negative and bizarre experience with trying to book a party at The Jam Factory.
I had visited the site and talked with Shannon about a Halloween party, 7 months in advance. We met and had a tour, late March 2018. The party is for late October 2018. She indicated that I was very early and that the month was wide open.
In fact, for the last 3 Halloween parties my company has had, at different locations, we booked the venues in late July, with no issues. I too, thought I was quite early and I was happy to be early.
After we met, Shannon said she would send the quote the next day but it took her four days. "Whatever", I thought.
I mentioned to her that I was 99% sure about the date late in October for my company's Halloween party. I also told her that I wanted to wait until the second week of April to sign the contract and pay the deposit because my business had to settle on a bunch of bills which happened to be coming due the first week of April.
She agreed, in writing, and we decided to wait just a week. Unfortunately, in that week, Shannon decided to rent the space to another business and not inform me that she was doing this. When I told her that I was shocked and disappointed that she would give away a space which we had already agreed on, she sent a rather rude reply back, in which she stated that October was in fact their busiest month and that she doesn't hold spaces for more than a week.
The reality is, that if she had told me that my date, 7 months in advance, was hotly contested, I would have signed the contract and given the deposit earlier, regardless.
All I can say is that I found The Jam Factory very unprofessional and I don't recommend it.
