  • I'd been to the flagship Hustler store in Southern California so I was curious to see how this one compared. I did not expect to be so impressed. I am extremely familiar with sex toys as I used to review them, and sold them for a few months at home parties decades ago. I have been to an insane amount of competing shops in many, many cities as well as shopping extensively online to see what I wanted to obtain for review. First of all, this is an easy to find, well lit, discreet, pleasant and extremely large store. You could bring anyone here without them being offended as long as they are not opposed to sex in general or to people discussing it. It's a block away from Hooters restaurant and next to a chain steakhouse in the circular road outside of the mall. All of the sex toys are in a separate room which you wouldn't see unless you walked over right next to the entrance and decided to go further. The front of the store has a massive selection of corsets, stockings, lingerie, shoes and sexy wear including extremely hard to find items for women with enormous breasts, thigh high black boots, and rainbow colored platform heels next to the boots. There are items that are elegant, tasteful, naughty, cute, you name it. I thought the merchandise was fairly different from Fredericks Of Hollywood, Fascinations, and Castle Megastores all of which have a presence nearby. The front also has a book section with no potentially offensive covers showing, and surprisingly the books authored by Larry Flynt were on the bottom shelf along with DVD copies of the Hollywood movie about him. I did not see a single copy of Hustler magazine anywhere in the store. There are lotions and potions including the usual massage oils and lube, as well as a display of condoms, but also a perfume section and other items that were not specifically for sex. There were jewelry items, mainly necklaces, Hustler tshirts and pajamas mostly just featuring the magazine name on all sorts of materials, shirts with womens cut as well as traditional tshirts and tshirts with no sleeves. There were shorts, purses, underpants, etc. and none of these said Hustler on them. There was a green shoulder bag with an outside zippered section, a main zipper to open and close the inside, as well as an inside section in the center which also zippered and would help you find specific items quickly. If they had it in other colors I would have wanted it badly as few purses have any organization on their main inside area. You would never know the bag wasn't purchased at Macy's or Target. There were DVDs, but very few compared to what an adult bookstore or mainstream video store with an adult section have. Larry Flynt has his own lines of adult film companies, as well as owning VCA, but the titles offered were not his. It's probably possible to shop in this store without knowing what the name Hustler stands for. I would have added a few titles with sexual positions and things like Nina Hartley's instructional series, as well as golden age classics with Marilyn Chambers but it's certainly possible they were there and I didn't notice them, they were sold out or they were not in stock yet as it's a brand new store. They had instructional books though so it was possible to walk out with some help in that area without even looking at the movies. There were also items for bachelorette parties, games about sex, and likely more I am forgetting. The back room has a well positioned sign about being 18 to enter, and an employee who leaves you alone but is there to watch the age of customers, for security purposes and to answer questions and help you select items. I chatted her up and she was easy to talk to, appeared to like her job and the items, and if I owned the store I would be happy she worked for me. The condoms were in that back room, as well as a huge selection of sex toys with dozens of pink, red and purple items that were top of the line brands with well packaged boxes most of which had explanations of some kind. There was a section for a line of pillows which compensate for when one partner weighs a lot more than the other or is much taller than the other. There were dildos, vibrators, a few paddles and floggers most of which would not cause any pain when used, and some items such as a violet wand that most customers would miss seeing in a glass case but that are of interest to people who have almost everything else. There were some items for those curious after reading 50 shades of gray, but they were costume items and items for beginners more than anything for intending to cause pain. Again, most of the items were in pink and purple so they are less threatening to give as a gift or pull out and suggest your partner just try them. Yelp is making me end this due to some word limit, but you get the idea from the above if you are curious or not. Great selection, 3 great employees to help you, definitely worth driving to including with someone somewhat uptight.
