| - I fell in love with this company through their gorgeous photos on instagram, so it was a must-book on my trip to Vegas. After perusing the makeup artist's individual instagrams, I chose Luci Lux (though it was a very difficult choice as all of their work is amazing). E-mail communication was consistent leading up to the appointment, which I appreciate. FYI, they request a 20% deposit to make the appointment, which makes sense given that they come to you. The one downfall is the price, for hair/makeup with Luci it was a total of $185 (plus tip). This initially felt a bit steep to me, particularly because it wasn't for a wedding or event. However, after the appointment when I saw how much time and effort Luci put into it I feel it was entirely worth it - plus, she is such a doll and fun to hang out with!
There were also so many aspects of this appointment that really made it special and that I suspect elevates HWR from the rest: The fact that they come to you (in my case, my hotel room) made it so easy to schedule as I didn't have to spend a full day trying to uber or taxi my way across Vegas (a city I'm totally unfamiliar with). Luci arrived on-time in full hair and makeup, which made me even more excited to get the "treatment" too! She also played a 30/40s pandora station while working which meant the world to me as I LOVE listening to vintage music while getting ready. She recreated a Dita Von Teese hairstyle perfectly on me, and taught me some amazing makeup tricks (her nose contour honestly looks like an amazing nose job - I was in awe)! Both the hair and makeup lasted well into the night, and could have easily lasted longer had I stayed up later. I chose the hair/makeup service for a "night on the town", but I would hire Luci for a wedding in a heartbeat.
Do not hesitate to book an appointment with HWR! If I ever visit Vegas again I'll absolutely book another appointment! Strangers were complimenting my look all night, and the pictures taken that night will forever be some of my favorite photos :) I also consider the appointment to be a makeup class of sorts, because if you study what the MUA does, you can take away a lot from it.
