| - When I travel, I tend to look for board game shops or cafes to visit - something to fill in a free afternoon here or there. I've been to a handful of different venues that offer games to play, all around the USA.
Meepleville is one of the best I've seen.
The selection of games is absolutely top notch. They have hot new releases, and classic award winners from the early days of the German board game Renaissance. They have heavy, deeply strategic games, and light silly ones. The space is also great. Large tables, massive, comfortable PADDED chairs, great lighting that's even and not full of glare, plenty of space to stretch your legs without feeling cramped, and a wall of board games that will make any game nerd jealous.
After spending a few days in Las Vegas, being over-charged for things that were often inferior to similar attractions in other cities, watching resorts jack up prices on everything, it was actually really refreshing to walk in to a place only charging a buck fifty for a bottled water.
The owner of this place is someone who is obviously passionate about games, and it shows when he talks about them, teaches them, or helps you select your next game. He's built an awesome tribute to hobby board games, and if you like games even a little bit, I'd recommend visiting his shop.
