| - You won't see me check into a Home Depot very often, because I'm not a do-it-yourself kind of girl. I'm more the kind of girl who bats her eyes and makes a puppy dog face until I can get some manly man (usually my boyfriend) to help me out.
I dropped by this location to get a propane tank refill. I only have to get a refill about once a year, but I always dread it because it seems to be a hassle. However I was pleasantly surprised on this trip.
My boyfriend put the empty tank in a shopping cart and we headed into the store because I needed to purchase some Round Up while we were there. I told him, "You know you can't take the tank into the store." But being a man, he didn't listen and told me I was crazy. I was elated to find that Round Up was on the very first display walking in, so I grabbed a bottle and we went right to the register. We told the girl we also need a propane refill, she rung it up and said to my boyfriend, "Next time leave the tank outside. It's against fire code to bring it inside." I laughed so hard, because he hates it when I'm right. He didn't find it so funny.
When we got outside, we saw the most amazing invention of all time! They have an automated kiosk for propane - who knew?? You can pay for a new tank or a refill, right there, 24 hrs a day! Being that we had already paid, it even had a handy little feature that allowed us to scan our receipt. It unlocked a little locker and asked us to put the empty tank in and shut the door, and following it unlocked a little locker giving us a full tank to take with us. Ingenious! Our cost for the refill was only $17.99 (Vons is $19.99). Although I won't need another refill any time soon, I'm certain this is where I'll come next time.
