| - Definitely a divey environment and unless you heard of this place from others or online, you would not see this place just driving by because it's tucked away in a large plaza. There's only 3 booths and a couple of tables outside so if you come here for dinner, don't be surprised if you have to eat outside in the dark as there's no lightning outside. Obviously you won't be eating outside forever like a sit-down restaurant, but it's definitely not appealing with your dinky phone flashlight on with car lights shining on you as they park in and out.
They offer the option of 1, 2 or 3 patties but I feel like that might be a mistake because they use the same bun for every burger. Not sure if you've seen the pictures posted by others, but these buns are surprisingly substantial themselves. The patties aren't thick either, but the thin kind. Thus, if you get 1 patty like me, even with the added pastrami and other toppings, the bun to burger ratio isn't right and the beef gets lost - making it feel like you're just eating bread and veggie toppings. For a moment there, I got a glimpse of what being a vegetarian was like and I felt like dying quick death. So definitely need to order 2 or 3 patties, no if's, ands, or buts about it.
Unfortunately I have to say that if you're looking for a non-chain burger shop, go to Lenny's. Those burgers are worth driving into suicidal Central Phoenix traffic for (they have a couple of other locations as well). If you're ok with a chain, Fuddruckers will appease you more, even if they don't have the 20-something different combinations this place offers. Definitely give this place a try, but heed my tips and warnings above.
Also, the girl at the register is amazing customer service wise :)
