| - Pros:
1. It's cheap. The price ranges from $525-575 the last time I checked whereas the higher ranged ones are obviously renovated. I saw one of the "renovated" ones and they just get a new stove, fridge, and I believe a shower.
2. It's close to UNLV if that's where you need to be.
3. Trash, sewage, water, maintenance, cable, and internet are all included - You pay for your own power, obviously.
4. Surprisingly clean. I've only seen maybe 3 or 4 small roaches in my apartment. Exterminators come once a month, I believe, but if you supposedly talk to the office about the pest problem, they will call the exterminators to come.
5. Comes furnished. You get a desk, a night stand, a desk light, a couch, a bed, and an area rug that's unmovable - I've seen some of the other apartments and some get a full carpet but those are probably 'newly renovated'
... And here are the cons (brace yourselves):
1. Absolutely no windows.
2. Your door to your apartment is a GLASS SLIDING DOOR.... Real safe....
3. The walls are all cinder block.
4. Although you DO get free wifi - the connection is awful and you constantly get disconnected.
5. There are NO vents in your bathroom so humidity in your apartment just builds up.
6. There's no security that patrols the apartments and it's not gated.
7. You get assigned parking. Your car might get placed out in front or, if you're unlucky, in the back. My friend who lived here a few months ago unfortunately got his car placed in the back and eventually someone broke into his car and stole stuff.
All in all, this place pretty bad. Also, this place is called "Cottage Grove Apartments". I don't know why it's listed as "Senate House Apartments".
-Edit 11/23/2012-
So I guess there are a lot of open apartments here now (I wonder why?...) and the management has gone all out in trying to get new residents. I walked by a model apartment room the other day and I am just appalled that they still market 'free wifi'. As mentioned before, your chances of having a stable internet connection over a 30 minute time span is probably close to 20% if not lower.
