| - I was having a good day today (22 Aug 2014). Went to Yoga, had a good lunch, then went to BMO branch at Dundas & Keele. It's 20 degrees, mostly sunny, a short bike ride away from me, to take out some cash. After taking out cash, I was looking at some of the restaurants and stores that's popped up recently in the area. I noticed two doors down from BMO that there was this store that had lovely antique/turn of the century aged furniture, architectural pieces and lots and lots of old beautiful stain glass windows. Being an antique lover and collector, I had to go and look inside. There were a few people inside, and the only one who wasn't occupied was a young sales lady, So I began a conversation with her, asking her about the pieces and where they came from but focusing on the pieces, not her.
As I browsed through their stained glass collection, she came over to me and told me to NOT come back to the store again. I was shocked. I asked, why, and what did you just say to me? and I took out my iphone to do a voice recording. At that point this perfectly articulate woman couldn't find words. I repeated to her what she told me: "did you just tell me to not come back to the store?, and why? is that?". She just began backtracking, saying that's not what she said. And she couldn't tell me what she just said. Certainly I'm not the clientele they want right - brown, in shorts sandals tshirt. It wasn't like I looked like a homeless man. Far from it. And I didn't smell - I just showered after yoga! I was in such a wonderful state of mind. It's the usual suburban casual middle class look. And why is that objectionable? Is it what I was wearing, or whom I was. I had never been so insulted! I am still stunned at what I heard.
