Nothing could be finer than eating eastern Carolina BBQ
Guest from out of town were looking to get there BBQ on and my first instinct was to take them to Mac's. However, I wanted to bring them a taste of the Carolinas BBQ. Now the rest of the world thinks BBQ is ribs or brisket in a tomato based sauce. WRONG! I was naive at one time but found the errors in my ways.
Since Bill Spoon's is only a lunch time place during the week I figured this would be a great place to drop in. The best thing is Bill Spoon's have unlimited hush puppies since you can't stop at just an even dozen. I can't believe it took me this long to try this local gem out!
The decor of this place is straight up Andy Griffith show. The wood panels take you back to that time called 1961. It has a charm of eating at grandpa and grandma's home. It is super clean too which appeals to my neat OCD ways.
The staff here was super friendly. The menu is very short and fits on half a page but lets face it the Carolina BBQ is the main attraction. This BBQ is very different is chopped pork with special spices. They even sell T-shirts as a great reminder of your meal.
So if you want to get the full Carolina BBQ experience check out Bill Spoon's!
