  • I now call this place misogynist hotel. I stayed here with friends on a girls weekend 5 months after delivering a baby. The current recommended guidelines for women following delivery include breastfeeding as long as we can for the health of our babies. So, when I am away from my baby for work or fun, I pump breastmilk for him. In order to do so, it is necessary to sterilize pump equipment by washing and heating to high temps in a microwaveable pump supply bag. This is just how it is in order to prevent mastitis. I noticed this hotel did not provide microwaves so I asked Jesse in guest services for one. He said it was $20 but he could give it to me for $10, and that $10 was the "rock bottom" rental price. I asked to speak with a manager and explained to Robert (manager) that I have to pump breastmilk for my child and could he provide a microwave free of charge because I already paid a resort fee. No. He says the best he can do is $5. Men, do you quite understand that lactating is much like having to pee? How would YOU like it if you had to pee and a resort told you that to empty your bladder, that would be an extra charge? It's not that I don't have $5. My friends and I are all professionals with an income. It's the principle. My friends come here for Spring training every year. They will not be staying here again. As a local Scottsdale resident, I will certainly NOT be doing girl's weekend here again until management makes it clear they understand that it isn't 1950 anymore.
