| - I just changed my yelp review from 2 to 1 star based on another concert I just attended there. It is the worst place to see a band, especially if you care about sound quality.
So let's go through the order of events you'll experience when you decide to see a band there:
1) It takes you forever to get there since it's in the middle of nowhere. A long journey, but it builds the anticipation.
2) the lineup will be long and tiresome since they have crazy ideas of 'security'. They pat down everyone, except not if you hold your things in your hand (or some of them anyway), so it's not even thorough security, just a time suck. You're kind of confused by it, but you let it slide.
3) you enter the place and it looks promising. You get a beer and hope for the best.
4) the opening band is on! Wait, why is the volume so low? Why... why does it sound like you're listening to music with broken apple earbuds? The sound quality is atrocious! What song are they even singing?!
5) You give the sound techs some slack, maybe they set up the sound for the headlining band. You wait out the terrible sound and hope the main band sounds good.
6) Hang on, wait... Who's on the stage right now? The flat floor doesn't really let you see much on the stage. There are some video screens, but they're too far back for them to be use to you. You strain your neck trying to look past the really tall people around you.
7) Someone moved and you now get a glimpse of the stage! "OW FUCK WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT" The light tech guys fucking hate you and shine lights in your eyes. Several times. At least they're on beat.
8) Oh hey! the headliner is on! But the sound is still... still so awful. Now it sounds like you're listening to broken earbuds submerged in water. Wow.You strain to even figure out what song you favourite band is playing. This fucking sucks.
9) Welp, that was disappointing. Let's go home. You go outside, and see masses of people waiting for the taxis, all of which are taken, and so you head down to the bus shelter, with about a few hundred other folk.
10) by the time you saunter home and see the sunrise, you think to yourself that you'll never go through this bullshit again.
