I just finished up the New Student Special of 2 weeks unlimited for $25 and I can say I was beyond pleased with this studio! I recently moved from downtown where yoga studios are in abundance and I practiced regularly so I was nervous about finding a new place to practice. I found Yoga Innovations by searching on Yelp and picked it because it was the closest to my new home. I'm happy to say I think I found my new regular studio! I went 7 times in my 2 week trial to get a feel for as many instructors as I could. I didn't find an instructor I didn't like! Each teacher was challenging in her own way. Each class was different and allowed for varying degrees of difficulty in a move, which I always appreciate, as sometimes I want a challenge and sometimes I'm there for recovery.
Other things I really like about the studio is the cleanliness, the heat (very hot - love it!) pricing and the times of classes. They have more $5 classes than any studio I've looked at. I love this option as yoga is not a cheap habit and this allows people of any budget to practice. They also have early morning classes (I'm talking 5:30 am weekdays and 7 am weekends,) and late night (8 pm) which I love since I like to practice either first thing in the morning or at the end of the day. In general YI seem to offer many more classes than surrounding studios.
The only downfall would be the parking. The lot is small and shared with other businesses and Broughton Road does get backed up during high traffic times. Conveniently they mention the parking issue on their website and suggest parking in the back, which I wouldn't have known had I not seen it on the website first. You should allow an extra 5 minutes to park back there and walk up - esp if there's traffic as you have to turn left through a busy intersection to get back there. (I'm also always running late so this might not be an issue for others!)
All in all, this is a great studio and I would recommend it to any beginner or advanced yogi. I've already raved about it to my close yoga-loving friends!
Oh - they also offer Pilates classes, which sadly I didn't have time to try out during my 2 week trial. I'm very interested in seeing what those classes have to offer!
