i had an absolute nightmare trying to return an online order to IKEA Vaughan. despite calling the central IKEA helpdesk a number of times to ensure i was following correct protocol, the third party courier who delivered my item for return - an item which was clearly marked with all of the necessary reference numbers and order numbers and other information, was given *gift cards to return to me*. when i called back to find out what the hell had gone wrong, i was informed by IKEA that this is completely unheard of and has nothing to do with standard protocol. the gift cards were canceled. i then had to call back again because, ten days later, despite having received the item and messed up the refund with the gift cards, IKEA Vaughan STILL had not managed to confirm my item in the system as having been returned. i wasted so much time on the phone over this mess. HOURS OF MY LIFE I WILL NEVER GET BACK! thanks, IKEA Vaughan, for being a total disaster.
