  • Had a fun meal at Roka Akor. It's got a cool vibe and the service was good at the bar. Overall the food was good but it seems they place a bit more attention on the plating than the food itself. It is also on a higher price point for what you get, but I guess that can be expected at the more trendier places in Scottsdale:) We shared 3 items. The yellowtail sashimi, pork belly and the miso black cod. Surprisingly my least fav was the black cod which I usually find to be a supreme delicacy. The plating was beautiful but the fish itself was overdone and a bit dry. I think it might make sense to try their Wagyu beef as it looked great being served around us. But you have to be prepared for the price tag that goes along with it!
