I got acrylic nails as one of my nails on my thumbs was cracking down the middle. I asked the nail tech if getting acrylics would be helpful in letting it grow. She did not say much and shrugged. In the process, I was meticulous in watching her because I am very curious and picky. What is this used for? And, shorter please (when referring to length). I don't think she liked that, so perhaps that is why the work was unsatisfactory upon review. I could have received a better manicure from anyone else.
I went in three weeks later to get them removed. In the moment, my natural seemed to be fine, even as they were weak. That's normal. Now, however, I see that not all of the acrylic nail was removed. I placed my nails in acetone, but it was not buffed enough by the technician. I find myself with three or four nails with a small layer of acrylic chemicals. And, my other thumb nail is cracked now.
This was sad to experience as I had been coming here for years, but I find a better place to go to.
