| - Let's go to the ex! If you have CAA, Perkopolis or other deals, try to purchase ahead of time instead of paying for the full price of $18 or $40 (including the rides) at the gate. I believe with Perkopolis I got it for $14 (adult price).
Last year, I feel the reason why I only gave it 3 stars was due to the crowdedness, however it really depends on the time you go. Try to go on a weekday so it's not so crowded. Last year, I probably went on a weekend. Round up a few of your non-working friends or friends who happen to be free during the day to go with you on a weekday! You can pay just $5 in the evening but then you'll miss out on the shows.
Regardless, some updates from last year. I felt with the carnival games, majority of the stuffed toys have been a battle between stuffed Pokemon dolls (Pikachus, bulbasaurs, squirttles, etc.) and Minions. May the games begin. Still the same old games though (ie. Bowlerama, birthday month, ring toss, fool the guesser, etc.) Although, I'm no expert in the games, I feel the only game I would be bound to win would be Fool the Guesser. I still need to learn the trick to Ring Toss though.
A new show they had this year was the Water Ski Cape show down at the harbourfront centre. It was a little further to get to and they will give you a stamp before you leave or come back in so the traffic there can be quite busy at the end of the show when everybody is leaving. The show was alright. The host was very enthusiastic about the show but I guess as audience members, sitting out in the sun watching (for lack of a better word) amateurs or people who just enjoy the sport can drain out your energy. I would love to try those water sports one day though don't get me wrong!
The skating show featuring Elvis Stojko was amazing! Not only did they feature Olympian figure skaters but other gymnasts and acrobats and they did a good job with the show. They were very up to date with the song choice. Food is allowed (or I would assume so as the security guard clearly saw me bringing a Tim Hortons come inside).
The SuperDog show was amazing as well. I watch this every year and they decided to use the rock and roll theme. Don't forget to give you free bag of dog food at the end. Teehee. The dogs on this show are truly super. No food or drinks in this theatre.
As for the food. Some new eats included "The Bug Bistro" which I was not brave enough to try, and "Su and Bu" @suandbu (for their social media). Both these places were located in the food building and su and bu had the longest line from my observations. I decided to try the Salmon Samba (salmon burrito I suppose) and it was good. I thought I was going to have to add sauce to it but they already had the sauce in it. The people making the food and taking the order were friendly which is pretty amazing considering they were probably working all day due to the non stop line up. Let's say I would not mind going back now that they're planning on opening up on John Street. For everybody who ate at Su and Bu, everybody got a 25% discount for their next order if you choose to go :) This place can be a whole review itself now.
