Excalibur meets some very basic needs for a hotel in Vegas. Amazingly it's the only one that meets them all. And yes I've stayed in nearly every hotel on the strip.
1. Friendly check in staff. They put you where you ask. In my case I know the rooms facing the courtyard are the queitest, and have comfy beds.
2. Affordable. Weekday nights including resort fee are roughly $60. You get a $20 coupon to the steakhouse so it really is only about $40 a night
3. Fun casino. Plenty of slots. Fun feeling, and machines are a bit looser than other casinos on the strip.
4. Parking. On most days you can find a parking spot near the elevator for whatever tower you are staying in
5. Making you feel like a valued customer. In all of my times staying here and dealing with employees I've never once felt underappeciated. I mean heck I was using a $20 coupon at the bar and getting exactly $20 worth of food. One would think the bartender would look down on me. Nope always a smile.
Place is really a hidden gem. Other MGM properties could learn a lot from this place. As a result they probably make tons of money. With little overhead. Being nice costs nothing.
