| - I went to Canadian Tire to buy myself some new tires because they always have really good deals on them, well and since they are called "Canadian Tire" I thought they can get the job done and I have bought tires from them before at a different location and they always did a good job. But this time it was something completely different. I bought 4 sets of tires, they put them on my car, balanced them, checked if all the breaks are good. I paid my money and was well on my way. I drove straight home which is just a few blocks away. That evening when I was driving to work and I got on the highway I thought my car would fall apart that's how badly it was shacking. Next morning I went back to Canadian Tire and told them that someone forgot to balance my tires. The head mechanic there was nice about and said that someone will take the car for a spin and have a look at it. An hour later he agreed that something was wrong and that they will balance it again. They finished the job, this time I wanted to convince myself and I took my car for a spin on the highway, the shacking has improved a bit but it was still very bad. I shouldn't be feeling any vibration in the steering wheel after the tires have just been balanced. So I took it back again and told them that it's still no good, the mechanic wasn't to happy with me but told me that he will send his tire specialist to do the job. After an hour and a half he came back to me and told me that it's done, the mechanic took it for a drive and he finds it's ok. I again wanted to convince myself and took it for a spin. Still shacking, it was again a little bit better but after paying so much money for tires you would think that it should drive smoothly. I went back there and told him that it's still not ok, he wasn't to happy with me and said that my rims are a weird size and their machine is having a hard time balancing the tires and that they can't do a better job. I drove over to my mechanic told him the hole story, he took me in the back, put my tires on the balancing machine ( with no problems and he said my rims are standard size ), showed me how way off balance the tires were, fixed it and my car was driving like a charm!! I drove back to Canadian Tire and told them that I went to my mechanic and he balance my tires with the first try and asked them if they would reimburse me because I had to pay for balancing, let me just tell you this much. He didn't have a very nice response!! Last time I am taking my car to Canadian Tire or buying Tires there.
