  • On Friday (6/23/17) my friend Patrice Bonilla-Sexton and I went to get pedicures. She just had back surgery so she can't bend to paint her toes and she, graciously, offered to pay for mine so we could have a girls date. I offered to give her a gel manicure. It was settled. We went to K Nails in Kennedy Plaza, excited for a little relaxation. What we got was anything but. She made us both appointments for 6:30, the last appointments of the night. The manager did my pedicure and Linda did Patrice's. Linda kept complaining about how short Patrice's nails were and the manager scalded me multiple times. He pulled my nails over the cuticle while trimming (which hurt) and cut my nails to the quick. My feet are still covered in dead skin and my heels, nothing but calluses. The PAINT JOBS?! Linda did such an awful job that I'm amazed she calls herself a professional. It looked like a toddler painted Patrice's toes. There was paint all over her skin and cuticles and it looked like there was no top coat at all. Mine were not as bad, but still ridiculously amateur. Streaky, no shine to the finish, NO polish in some places, and the manager put another top coat on my big toes as I was walking out the door to try to disguise this. When we got into the daylight we were APPALLED at how awful Patrice's toes looked. We went back moments later but they had closed early. Patrice planned to contact them the following day (Sat. 6/24/17). However, that morning, half of my big toenail fell off. I was very upset, as you can probably imagine. I posted pictures and a detailed account of everything that had happened to their Facebook, as they do not have the option to message them privately. They did not respond, so Patrice called, then went to the shop to speak to them. They were rude, arrogant, told her that only her little toe was a mess and it was her fault because it was too short. They kept insisting that we "messed up" our nails after we left the shop. When Patrice told them about my broken nail and tried to show them the picture they insisted that I come in and show them. I did. And brought them the large chunk of toenail in a baggie. They told me that, because it is my natural nail, "that just happens" and, you guessed it, that was, also, MY FAULT. I asked how my nail was fine when I came to them and why he was pulling my nail over the cuticle and the owner and manger rolled their eyes and scoffed at me. Finally the owner barked "What you want?!" I answered "Compensation for my friend. She paid you a ridiculous amount of money for two of the worst pedicures I've ever seen." At this, he ignored me and walked over to another customer. This is how the owner/manager/nail painters (it's an insult to real techs to call them that) treat customers at this place. She has been offered nothing but another paint job for both of us. This man is so cocky that he thinks we would let anyone in that place touch us again! So now, I have half of a big toenail, and two pedicures to do because the ones that Patrice paid for were embarrassing and, even painful
