| - To start, we stayed here as a paying nightly customer, not as part of a timeshare or promo. We were placed in a one bedroom suite with a view of the airport, which seemed to be one of the furthest rooms from the front entrance. No ability to exit out the side door which was right there was a bit frustrating. The parking lot was always at least 1/2 full so park in the round about at the entrance to drop your bags and loved one, as it ended up being quite a walk from where we had to park.
Onto the noise issues. It is literally right across the street from the airport so the noise from the airplanes taking off could be bothersome at times. On our first night, the neighbors used their shower at around 2 am. The sound from the water running was so loud it kept us up, thankfully it stopped after about 20 mins and we were able to go back to sleep. The walls seemed like they could have used more sound insulation, on our second night we could hear our neighbors talking loudly and also hear people conversating while walking down the hallway.
The room was well appointed with a kitchenette, fridge, washer and dryer, sleeper sofa, 2 tvs and even had a cd player in the living room. We discovered the ice maker in the freezer almost too late into our trip. We wondered the complex for a good 10 minutes trying to find an ice maker upon arrival and couldn't. Don't bother following the signs in the hallways for 'Vending' as we did and came up with nothing but a dead end. We even asked one of the employees, which answered she didn't know. The room did feel clean and we were surprised to see 'Bath and Body Works' products in the bathroom.
The location of the resort is just far enough off of the strip and in a sketchy area that makes walking quite unnerving after dark. We did it once and would not recommend it! Taking a cab to Mandalay Bay was $11.xx. We hadn't found out about the resort's shuttle service until after it left and we had to ask about it, no mention of it upon check-in by front desk staff.
