  • I just did the floatation bath, not the massage or Pulsar light therapy. It was a very interesting experience. Basically, you're led into your own individual room with one of the floatation baths, which from the outside looks like a personal space craft right out of Star Trek, but you open it up and lo and behold! It's full of half and half water and Epsom salts warmed exactly to body temperature, lighted in funky indigo blue, to such a high degree of concentration that you basically float in the water without even trying. Imagine being at the Dead Sea in Palestine/Israel and you get the idea. The idea of the floatation talk is that you go in, close the hatch, float, close your eyes and just let go of everything. Honestly, I think the reason why so many people love this is that on a subconscious level, it probably reminds many people of being back in your mom's womb, in utero. This was a first-time experience for me and I'm glad I tried it but I don't think it's going to be a regular feature for me. The water is SUPER slippery so be careful with that. I also have to agree that 1 hour was a bit long for me though I can see the benefit if you're super, super stressed. Facilities are super-clean, the attendants who explained everything to me were very nice and cordial, and it's literally a block and a half away from Beaubien metro. It's definitely a place worth checking out especially in the winter time.
