It was just OK. We went based upon raves from our friends who went for the AYCE deal. We are not AYCE fans but decided to try the ala-carte option.
It's a very large place and was bustling on a Saturday night. Lots of families. Very loud booming music (not for us) When we go out we look for a relaxing experience - this isn't it.
We were greeted warmly by the hostess and our server. When we said we didn't want AYCE we were given an additional menu. So we had a large menu with the rolls and AYCE info and another with "dinner" options. They have lots of rolls with the "dynamite" mix which seems to be Krab mixed with other seafood and mayo.
The sushi is a B-. Certainly the quality isn't up to our other favs like Sen and Soho but not bad. They have a lot of rolls and cooked menu options. I had the "steak" on rice. In parens because it seemed more like chopped beef. It didn't resemble a quality steak but for $12 who could expect otherwise. The sauce was high in sugar and salt. Very tasty but we were thirsty all night.
The tempura was very greasy. Not a redo.
Service was great!
Prices are very reasonable and you get a lot with the dinner orders. If you like a lot of ok food at cheap prices this is definitely the place for you.
