I tried skippa last night with my girlfriend who is Japanese and takes sushi seriously. In short we were definitely not disappointed. Skippa adheres to the fundamentals of a traditional sushi restaurant and serves phenomenal fish with minimal accompaniment, but also nails their less traditional side dishes with a combination on tastes that will truly impress. Their simmered squash might be the best vegetable dish I've eaten this year. Get the omakase for $45 for a full cross section of their menu and add a couple sides person for another 10$ or so. It's not a cheap meal, but when compared to other top quality sushi joints is quite reasonable. I would recommend a reservation because it was busy when I was there on a Saturday night.
