My 5 year old started at Sangrock a couple months ago and we have LOVED every minute. Master O is incredible with the students. Class sizes can get large - I've seen 25 kids, all under the age of 6 - and he's able to maintain their attention, give them a tough workout and keep them smiling and laughing for the whole class. My son looks forward to going to his classes every week and is learning a lot about control, following instructions, balance, etc.
One of the other things I really liked about this Dojang was the list of Student Commitments. Here are a few:
1. I will be loyal to my country
2. I will honor my parents
3. I will love my family and cooperate with them.
4. I will be faithful to my friends.
5. I will respect my elders and care for my juniors.
There are actually 10 commitments and they are all things that I believe in and want my son to learn and follow. I was very impressed with the list of commitments which was another thing that really attracted me to this particular Dojang.
The only thing that stopped me from giving this place 5 stars was the cost. The weekly classes (they're required to attend at least 2 classes each week) is average cost, but every time they earn a new belt (which is about every 2 months) you have to pay another $40. This extra fee for testing and the new belt seems a bit excessive to me.
Overall I would highly recommend Sangrock for anyone with young children who have some extra energy to burn and as a fun introduction to Tae Kwondo.
