Tim has recently been introducing me to different types of cuisine that he enjoys...Oishii Bento was no exception! I was thrown off by the set-up of the restaurant: you order downstairs and wait for food upstairs in the dining area. They have a digital number caller in the dining room so you don't miss your food. Plus, lots of plasticware, chopsticks, and free water!
This place is constantly packed (Pitt and hospitals close by) and you will find yourself sharing elbow room with someone you don't even know. Don't be alarmed! The food is excellent. I had a Chicken Katsu Bento and YUM! The rice is perfectly sticky. The Ton-Katsu sauce tastes like a rich, barbeque style (for those of us who don't regularly partake in Asian cuisine), which really complements the fried chicken.
And yes, Tim did make me try kimchi.
